Professional Certificate in Cinematography

Cinematography as the art of photography and visual storytelling in a film, often sets to support the overall look and mood of a film’s visual narrative. This course blends academic theory with practical skills to equip participants with on-set cinematography knowledge and visual elements, including lighting, framing, composition, camera motion, camera angles, lens choices, film selection, depth of field, zoom, focus, colour, exposure and filtration. Throughout the short course, students will be guided through hands-on workshops and productions, and required to analyse and explicate several local and international films from various aspects via screening, research and discussion.
